SO, it is nearing the end of August, which in other states, it means Fall is shortly around the corner, white pants and shoes are stowed away until after Easter and it is time to pull out the fall clothes. Well, not so in Florida. You can wear shorts and flip flops going into November! (And come on, who really follows the no white after Labor day rule, anyway!?) This is where my dilemma begins, and it is all Instyle's fault. This month's edition of Instyle is ginormous - at least 500 pages. Seriously. There are pages upon pages of the top fashions you MUST have for the fall. I am getting the bug to go shopping. So, do I put away all my summer attire and go on a shopping spree for frilly white button-downs, brushed metal necklaces and pin skirts!? Umm, no. But it sure would be fun! As Spencer calmly pointed out to me as I was eyeing all of the fun outfits - "Emily, it is not like you would ever go in one of those stores so why do you think those outfits are so cute?" And he is right! I am more comfortable in a pair of jeans, flip flops and a t-shirt. Now don't get me wrong, I like to dress up, but do I really want to have outfits like those in Instyle? For the most part, no. Dilemma solved. I'll stick to my shopping at Banana instead of the pages of Instyle. :) And maybe, even wear my white pants after Labor Day (gasp!)!
We heard some sad news this weekend. Our neighbor's 28 year-old daughter passed away after a 10-month battle with cancer. It was very sad. Her family knew it was terminal cancer, but that does not make it any easier. We went to Brenden and Kathy's house for a while yesterday afternoon and visited with them for a good two hours. The good thing in all of this is that Dawn was a Believer and because of her incredible Faith and love for the Lord, her parents walk with the Lord was strengthened. I am sure she touched many others throughout her short life.
We also heard some happy news! Whitney and Lauren, twin baby girls, came into the world this morning in Casper, Wyoming! Yea! Their dad, Chris, and his family are very close friends with Spencer's family! Spencer's dad and Chris's dad grew up together in Casper and the families stayed close ever since! Chris and his wife Christina got married one month before Spencer and I! We went to their wedding in Casper - it was beautiful!
That is it for this exciting Monday...can you sense my sarcasm?? :) hehe Hope everyone is having a good day so far!
