Above our kitchen cabinets we have open space. We've had a few decorative things up there but it never felt complete. Well, now it is and I am happy. :)
I added the red flowers to the basket - it really gives a pop color! And red is my favorite color. :)

This is a picture of a Texas map from the 1800s that I bought on a weekend trip with the girls to Marble Falls, TX. We had it framed and everything and we have had it just sitting in our extra guest room for about 2 months. Well, this weekend it was hung on an empty wall in our kitchen. :) Isn't it so pretty!?

So, this project was in our extra guest room. We haven't bought furniture yet because we don't know if that room is going to be a guest room forever - it could be a nursery, kid's room, etc. So, instead of spending money on a headboard, this is what we came up with...what do yall think!? and be honest because I am not 100% on this...
My last project of the weekend - yes I was busy :) ...was to clean up all the dead plants that I had in pots. They just couldn't take the heat. At one of Betsy's showers, the hostess handed out packets of sunflower seeds. I love sunflowers so I thought I would try to plant them. We'll see how this goes!
Day 1 - dirt
And I think Holly gave these to us maybe with our wedding bag she gave us? Who knows but I found seeds for Lavendar in a drawer...so while I had the dirt out...I thougth I would try to plant them!
Day 1 - dirt
So, hopefully I am done with projects for a while! For these non-creative people like me it gets stressful! :)
Wow girl! I am impressed...you are a super woman. And I love the Texas map!
ReplyDeleteWow-wee I am tried just reading all of that!!!! As for a headboard you could do a fabric wrapped option. Basically you could get a piece of plywood, wrap the plywood with 1 inch foam (stappling it in place to the back), and then wrap with your fabric (staple that as well to the back) Voila! Dynamic, easy, and inexpensive! Let me know if you need more detailed directions because I have good step by step ones for this project!!!!
ReplyDeleteRachel - that's a good idea!! Then I could move the curtains above the window - where they go anyway - duh and dilemma solved! thanks! :)
