Hello, Texas!

We're here! We made it! Yay! The trip out was pretty uneventful - just driving and more driving. We arrived probably around 1pm last Saturday and started unloading the UHAUL. I could only watch since I couldn't lift anything so I started the unpacking process. I wish I would have taken pictures - we had a mess everywhere. Yesterday, was the first day we finally feel somewhat settled.

We had mixed emotions as we were driving from Houston to Austin. The scenery in the Hill Country is beautiful, just different beautiful. It is not the tall Florida palm trees or heavy pine trees along the highways. It is the rolling hills covered in trees and then lots of tall rock walls. I also think the overwhelming feeling of "Holy Cow, we don't have a job yet, no house and our house in Florida hasn't sold yet" kinda hit us all at once. We know God is in control and His timing is perfect so we are both learning a lot about trusting completely. We are glad to be back in Texas and closer to family and ince we got settled we got over our second-thoughts.

Bailey is adjusting pretty well. She has always been a good traveler but I think it took her a few days to get used to her new home. The backyard is basically Lake LBJ so she has had to learn to take care of business on a smaller piece of grass. :) She does like it that we are walking her twice a day, though. :) The other day she met the neighborhood ducks. Let's just hope she doesn't decide to jump in the lake after them!!
