Perks of Pregnancy

I had to go to the dentist today - just the normal every 6-month cleaning. I hate going to the dentist. I absolutely hate it. This dentist I went to is considered an Ideal Dentistry practice - which basically means they want more money from you, but they do preventive work, like fixing cavities when they are smaller rather than waiting until they are huge and ginormous like most dentists. I have never had a cavity before in my entire life - not one! Well, I went today and they told me I had 2 places that needed immediate attention and 4 other places that were considered "hot spots." WHAT!? I am still trying to get over this. I brush twice a day, I floss once a month (ha), but I have always been told I have excellent teeth and NOW I am being told I have cavities! What the heck!

So, this is when I discovered there are perks to being pregnant. No cavity filling for me! (although it will have to happen eventually). No anesthetics! yeah! No full-mouth, feel like you are going to gag X-Rays! Yeah! :)

Other perks I have discovered:
  • Expectant Mothers parking at Target and Babies R Us and a few other places
  • Everyone is looking after YOU - oh, Emily, do you need to rest? Do you need water? How are you feeling? Can I get you anything? I'll admit, this took a while for me to get used to and I am still trying to let people help me.
  • It is ok for me to indulge in sweets and chocolate a little more than when I wasn't pregnant. I think this is my favorite part! :)
  • Being told not to exercise. I do love exercising so much but it is kinda nice to be lazy and "walk leisurely but nothing anything more strenuous"
  • Getting to buy new clothes! yeah!
  • Everyone is SO nice to you! It doesn't matter where you are - Fresh N Fruiti frozen yogurt (my new favorite), restaurants, you name it.

There are more but these are just a few. :)
