Wedding Weekend in Waco

This past weekend Spencer was an usher in one of his childhood friend's wedding. Jon and Spencer completed their Eagle Scout together and were hunting buddies - they've known each other since they were 14. The wedding was at First Baptist Waco and the reception was at the Phoenix Ballroom, which is such a cool place to have a reception. There are windows everywhere and distressed wooden floors with beautiful wooden columns throughout the room. The wedding and everything was great, except for one thing. The cake. I mean, it was beautiful - 5 tiers with piping all over and then their initials sitting on top - beautiful. But it was kinda dry and had a lemon flavor. I'm sorry but lemon?! Seriously!? What happened to plain white cake and plain white icing? I know I am boring. Actually, the cake was decent. I am just hard on wedding cake. I mean I have to be since I am practically a cake connoisseur after watching Cake Boss, Fabulous Cakes and all the other cake shows I watch. :)

On Sunday, we went to lunch with my dear friend Britni and her husband Tim and their sweet boy Hunter. We were there for over 2 hours! It was so good to see her - I am so glad we live closer to each other!

After lunch we went to...the Baylor Bookstore! Oh.my.gosh. It was SO packed full of little lost freshman. I heard one girl say she forgot her clothes at home. haha Seriously? Poor girl. But the bookstore did have so many cute things. I could have an entire wardrobe just of Baylor clothes. Sic Em.

So the picture below is on top of a parking garage on campus that overlooks the new Brooks Village, a new freshman dorm, and Pat Neff Hall - the big gold dome to the left. Just on the other side of Pat Neff is where Spencer proposed!
