Labor Day 2010 / Mini Family Reunion

This all started last year with my Aunt Kim getting married in North Redington Beach, Fl (outside of Tampa) where she and my grandparents have condos on the beach. All of the family on my mom's side came and so my Papaw decided we should make this a yearly tradition. So, all 15 of us packed up and went to Florida for Labor Day weekend! Yay!

We had SO much fun. I love all of my cousins so much and it seems we can just pick up right where we left off the last time we saw each other. They were so sweet. I had made a comment in an email to Elizabeth, the oldest, about having to wear a tankini. Which is fine, but it was sad because all the baby weight hadn't fully come off and I had a nice racing stripe going down the center of my stomach from being pregnant. Just another reminder...anyway, the first day on the beach and all three girls and my sister-in-law are wearing tankinis. That really meant a lot to me that they did that! Such sweet girls.

We did the beach thing and basically just hung out. One night for dinner, oh my gosh, my Papaw decides to take us to the this place on the beach to eat called Caddyshack. So we all cruise up in our 3 rented minivans - nice - and we see a drunk girl in the parking lot crying hysterically, 2 guys throwing the football in the street, and another drunk girl bawling her eyes out while trying to be consoled by another one of her drunk friends. So we go "in" which is actually covered porch and we immediately get stared down. Apparently we are all wearing too much clothing. All the girls, which most of them are covered in tattoos and smoking, are wearing the tiniest bikinis I have ever seen. Let's just say the boys weren't the type of boy you would want to take home to meet your parents. There was a sign posted that said NO FIGHTING or REMOVING CLOTHING. hmm I'm guessin' they have a problem with that!? So, we decided to go to a more tamer place. Definitely gave us a good laugh!

To cross the street, they have these bright yellow flags posted at all the crosswalks! haha We were walking to breakfast so of course we had to take a picture! :)

Saturday night we went on a dinner cruise throughout Tampa Bay. It was such a pretty view! Now, the entertainers on the other hand, were horrible. I actually felt bad for them. They tried to sing the Cupid Shuffle...that is how bad they were. But we still had fun! And trying to sing along with them to La Bamba...so bad. haha :)
The girl cousins! The three in the center are my cousins - Elizabeth, Rebecca and Rachel - and Betsy, on the far right, is my brother's wife.

The boy cousins! Spencer on the far left, Dustin - who is married to Elizabeth, my brother and then Brian on the far right. He is marrying Rachel this December!
And here's the whole fam...Christmas card pic!?

So this place, Candy Kitchen, makes the most incredible ice cream you will ever eat. It is SO good. They also have every kind of candy imaginable - from when our parents were little until now. This Candy Kitchen just opened so we all got to sign our names on the wall! Papaw LOVES ice cream so every visit we always go to CK!

Dinner the last night...

And the WHOLE group! For some reason my camera cut some of our heads off...no idea why that happened!

We had such a fun time! I can't wait for us all to be together again at Rachel and Bryan's wedding in December! yay!
