All I can say is what a weekend! This was one of the busiest weekends we have had in a long time. I don't know if we even had down time...well I guess that is what sleeping in until 11am on Sunday would be...BUT, other than that, there was no down time. :) It was a pretty emotional weekend, too...just lots of stuff going on so I think that might have added to the sleeping in on Sunday. hehe :)
I drove in on Friday morning and met one of my dear friends Billi Jo for lunch. I had not seen her for 3 1/2 years! The last time I saw her was at Spencer and I's wedding! holy cow! It was so good to catch up. I miss her! We were Intramural Chairs for Tri Delt at Baylor, which is how we became such good friends. She lives in Georgia with her husband, who is an attorney for the Army. She came into Waco to see Sing! at Baylor so of course I just had to come see her! :) I am kicking myself for not taking a picture!
I also got to see my sweet friend Britni Friday afternoon! Yay! And again...kicking myself for not getting a picture. :( We went to 3 Spoons - a self-serve yogurt place. I got peanut butter and vanilla - my favorite of the weekend! All you Waco people, if you haven't tried it, you really should! It's in the Central Texas Marketplace. I went 3 times this weekend....3! Hey! It has lots of active cultures in it...it is good for me right!? She brought little Hunter who is not so little anymore! He will be 2 in July! He did give me a kiss on the cheek though and he almost has my name down...I am Emma now until further notice. We had such a fun visit! I am so glad we live closer together now! :)
While I was waiting for B to get to 3 Spoons, I texted my friend Christine that I was glad we were in the same town! She was in Waco from Nashville...her and her husband moved there after college. We have known each other since we were 11! That is 17 years....whoa! She texted me back and her and her dad and sister and fiance were in the store right across the street! I hadn't seen her for at least a year. Christine and I's due dates were 4 days apart...if the boys would have made it, our boys would be a month and a day apart. I wasn't sure I could handle seeing her with her son and not having my boys, since we had always talked about how our boys would be friends, etc. I'm not gonna lie, there were tears shed in the middle of Marshall's but it was SO good to see her and I am so glad I met Brody.
I ate dinner with my parents Friday and then Spencer came in town and we hung out with my parents for a bit, then headed out to Spencer's parents' house for the night. Saturday was his sister Kaley's 18th birthday and we were all going to a birthday lunch together. We met her boyfriend for the first time and then headed to lunch with the crew. And again, we went to 3 Spoons. :) This is trip #2 of the weekend. This time I got pecan praline with chocolate.
Saturday afternoon we drove to Arlington for my Great Aunt and Uncle's 50th Wedding Anniversary party! yay! Aren't they so cute! They are on my dad's side of the family so all the Dallas family was there. I would say at least 20 family members were there plus some of their friends! They talked about their first date and what all they did. It was so cute!
Bottom Row: My 1st cousin Laura, me and my sister-in-law Betsy Top Row: My Dad's 1st Cousin Ginny, my Dad's sister, my aunt and Laura's mom Kathy and on the right my mom! |

Spencer sold his truck this weekend! It was getting up there on miles and we came across a good deal with some family friends so...after driving Fords and Chevys all his life....he now owns a Dodge! haha and he LOVES it! :) It was kinda sad getting rid of his old one. He got that truck right before we got married!
So after getting home around 8pm last night, we now need a vacation day to catch up and get back rested. :) But it was a fun weekend and well worth it!
