My devotional yesterday morning was really good so I thought I would share. It was titled "Praise God" and is in Grace for the Moment vol. 1 by Max Lucado. I really feel like through this whole process with the boys that God is trying to show me how much He really does love each of us and no matter what our circumstances, be it money troubles, stress from work/kids/family, or any other "life frustration", that we are to look to God first and praise Him with all that we are. He has given each one of us so much to be thankful - He has given us so much that we don't deserve why should we not praise Him unceasingly? He loves us so much and He wants us to allow Him to help us see us through our time of struggle or frustration.
October 8 - Praise God
Let us always offer to God our sacrifice of praise. Hebrews 13:15
You are a great God.
Your character is holy.
Your truth is absolute.
Your strength is unending.
Your discipline is fair.
Your provisions are abundant for our needs.
Your light is adequate for our path.
Your grace is sufficient for our sins.
You are never early, never late.
You sent your Son in the fullness of time and will return at the consummation of time.
Your plan is perfect.
Bewildering. Puzzling. Troubling.
But perfect.
Wow. Such wonderful words in that poem. While I was out and about yesterday I heard this Chris Tomlin song...it fit my devotional perfectly!
How Can I Keep from Singing by Chris Tomlin
Emily, how you have touched my heart with God's heart this morning. Thank you for sharing what He is teaching you through your joy for life and even through the dark valley of the shadow of death. His Light truly is sufficient and He is more than enough through it all... the good, the bad, and the ugly, right? I love this song as well. How I too praise our Lord and King. Love you!
ReplyDeleteEmily I love this devotional, thank you for sharing. I think we all need this reminder sometimes. I am so thankful for our friendship. Love you!
