Thankfulness

Thanksgiving is just around the corner. I remember when I was younger my dad would make us go around the table on Thanksgiving Day and each say what we were thankful for. My brother and I always thought it was SO cheesy (sorry, Dad!). haha I have never been very good about expressing my feelings in words - I just feel all uncomfortable and awkward - so I don't say anything or clam up. haha I am getting better about it though. Maybe that is why this blog has been so good for me!? Who knows. :)

This season, I challenge you to take some time to look around you and really find what you are truly thankful for. Forget all of the hustle and bustle of your daily lives, peel away all of the stress of your day, mentally empty your to-do list and sit in God's presence and listen to Him and sing Him songs of Thanksgiving for all He has blessed us with. We really are blessed, sometimes more than we realize.

I'm thankful for:
  • the best husband I could possibly imagine and even beyond that
  • our two sweet boys, Jake and Ty, and that we got to hold them and spend precious moments together
  • a loving family that is so supportive and encouraging, that sticks together through all things
  • Jesus - that we can go straight to Him with anything, that we are free to worship Him anywhere, that He gave Himself on the cross so that we may have eternal life in Him
  • my amazing friends - I love you guys so much - you give me so much support and encouragement - your friendship blesses me
  • Bailey :) our sweet mini Australian shepherd - she has been such a comfort to have at home
Those are just the main things...my list continues on and on. The more thankful we are, the less and less are burdens will seem.

Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.

Happy weekend, friends.
