It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

Merry late Christmas from the Capertons!! Christmas is my most favorite time of the year. I love the decorations, the music, how churches decorate the sanctuary, the Christmas lights, Christmas movies, Christmas trees, Christmas baking, the feeling of joy in the air...ok, I am getting cheesy, but you get the idea, I LOVE CHRISTMAS and everything about it! :)

Beyond the decorations and tinsel and commercialized hooplah, I truly love and am so thankful for the real meaning of Christmas. Jesus Christ was born on this Earth to save us - you, me - so that we may spend eternity in heaven worshipping Him for all eternity. How cool is that! Jesus loved us SO much He took a human form so that we could relate to Him and He could reach us on a human level.

I like to make a big deal about decorating the Christmas tree. :) It is an event, really. I mean your tree sets the Christmas tone for the whole house! It needs to look good! haha :) To decorate our tree, I made hot chocolate and bought all processed, boxed cookies I could find that had a Christmas tree on it. :) Of course I had to use my Spode Christmas tree dishes, too. :) We watched Elf and Christmas Vacation while we decorated.

Our Christmas card picture! In front of the tree, of course :)
The finished product! Beautiful!
Here are some of my favorite ornaments...

One of many Baylor ornaments

My Disney princesses, straight from Disney World

The "Mary" angel series from Hallmark. I have like 20 of them!

My ornament from my first Christmas

You can't have a good tree without Mickey :)

And of course Bailey!
I also love to bake for Christmas! And I love to eat what I bake so I have to give my goodies away or I will turn into Santa himself. I made Oreo balls, chocolate fudge, wedding cookies, chocolate covered pretzels, caramel turtles and sugar cookies. My favorites to make are homemade sugar cookies and then decorating them! Here is a picture of my masterpieces...ha!

One of the plate for the neighbors!
We had such a great Christmas. We got to see both our families and dear family friends. We spent Friday night, the 23rd, with my parents and had a game night with some dear family friends, the Wommacks. We watched the Baylor men whoop up on West Virginia (Sic Em) and then played Bunko! I was so tired and barely made it through but it was so fun to hang out with their family. We've known them literally my whole life! We spent Christmas Eve with my family and got to hang out with them for a while. That afternoon we headed over to Spencer's parents house and had dinner with his family and my parents even came, too! We had to leave Christmas Day afternoon for Spencer to get back to work on Monday. It was a very quick trip, but a fun one.

The holidays are always hard without the boys, every day is hard, but the holidays especially. We still miss them every day. They would have been 17 months on Christmas Day. It is crazy how time flies by. We do know they were having the best Christmas ever with our Creator while selfishly we were missing them. We will see them again one day and it will be beyond words. This was also my 3rd Christmas in a row being pregnant! Whoa! haha That just means I've been able to eat a lot more Christmas goodies than I should. :) And it also means we have been blessed with four babies...such a gift.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and was able to realize the true meaning of Christmas and celebrate the season from the heart!
