Mart and Gip

Not many people can say that they've known one of their best friends since the 5th grade. Christine and I have gone through the ugly, awkward junior-high phase, poofy hair and highwaters, summer Bible studies, bad boyfriends, amazing husbands :), high-school basketball, colleges in different states, coaching basketball together and everything inbetween - and still remain good, solid close friends! She was the Matron of Honor in my wedding!

Well, last weekend she came to visit from Nashville where her and her husband live with their Bij-Poo, Ranger! He is so cute. her husband couldn't come bc of work but we plan to go see them soon! :)

We went to Mickler beach, La Nopalera (duh), San Fernandino Beach, watched a triathlon - which I am now inspired to do, btw - went to the Town Center, etc. It went by so fast but we had a lot of fun! :) I was sad to see her go!

Britni

So, I was talking to Britni the other night and we were talking about our blogs....ha. I told her I had nothing interesting to write about and I loved how she posted all of her nursery pictures on her blog and I missed being in Waco to see her. Well, she is the inspiration for today's blog topic!

And now presenting....another Top 10 List! Woohoo!
Top 10 Reasons why I miss/love Britni (in no particular order):
Just as a preface - Britni and I have known each other since elementary school and were roommates in college - just in case some of the Top 10 seem a little....silly :)
- the Escape Ladder! (pronounced ES - SCA - PAY Ladder)
- Dance Parties
- Coffee time!
- her irritable tummy
- sharing a teeny tiny room our junior year
- her and the other roommates waking me up after I had gone to sleep at night
- watching Elf! and of course Napoleon Dynamite
- her "piles" that accumulated in her room
- going to Aerosmith concerts with her
- her Baylor sweatshirt blanket she always had with her when she slept
- missing the pregnancy and seeing little Baby Hunter get bigger!
- Of course - Joey and Abby - my god puppies
- going on lunch dates
- her caring nature
- just hanging out :)
the list could go on but I'll stop here! I'm sure I'll think of more after I post.... :)

Don't mess with Texas

Yea for Britni and Tim! Isn't she so cute!? :)

Britni has been my friend since we were in elementary school and now look at her! (I mean that in a completely good way!) We even lived together in college - and yes, I do have some funny stories! She should have Baby Pedro - (that is what I am calling him until he has an official name) - at the end of July. Yea! :)

So, I was thinking...as amazing as Florida is, there are a few things in Texas that will always make Texas better! So, I decided to make a Top 10 list...Drum roll please!

Reasons why Texas is better (in no particular order):

1. Our flag is better, I mean look at it...it is perfect.
2. We are the only state that has REAL bluebonnets - all others are fake
3. It is the home of Baylor University - Sic Em!
4. Bush's - the BEST fried chicken anywhere - Sarah can agree with me.
5. Remember the Alamo!
6. Texas Pride - what other state has it? It can't be explained
7. Texas football
8. The Mexican food
9. The rodeo
10. Texas Country - the real country music
I could go on and on..but I have to stop sometime! Florida isn't bad either...so to be fair.....

Reasons Florida is ALMOST as good as Texas - but not quite:
1. Disney World! Katie will soon find this out! Yea!
2. The beaches - I love living 10 minutes away!
3. Most of our family/friends live in Texas
4. Our friends we've made in Florida - yall are still great!!! :)
5. Have I mentioned Disney World?

Happy Wednesday!

From the husband....

Get excited! Here's a post from the husband! :)

Puppies…mans best friend…in training! I was excited when I convinced Emily to think outside of the proverbial Dachshund box and even more excited when we both settled on a breed that is fun, athletic and most of all SMART! Bailey has been such a pleasure to train and daily a joy. I was blown away just yesterday when I ran into a guy (and quite a guy at that, towering over me by at least 5-6”s! and a good 50 lbs!) that he had an Aussie that would open the door to let herself out to the bathroom, turn on the faucet to wash her paws and taught herself to skateboard! Oh the possibilities! I think she may be a bit more strong willed than that, but nevertheless I am excited…despite some shedding!

It's me again - the wife - so I want Bailey to sleep in bed with us. She is so cute and cuddly...Spencer says no (and I really say no, too) so she just gets to sleep in the bed with me when Spencer is gone! Who could say no to this adorable face?

Husband again: Exciting news…Katie is coming to visit! I love it when friends and family come to see us, whether they’re coming to see us or we just happen to be in a vacation state, doesn’t matter and don’t tell me! It’s so hard to explain via phone what’s going on daily and details about our new home and all that is around our daily lives, so it’s nice to get to have quality time and share it all! Can’t wait!

And the wife again!

So today feels like Monday...why? Because my day is so slow and boring...like a Monday after a fun weekend. But something to look forward to....is Vacation Day Friday! Katie Verett is coming to visit! Woohoo! We're going to Disney (maybe) and the beach and shopping and all and whatever the heck we want! yeah!

So is all this switching around confusing!? Maybe we should take turns! haha :)

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

and Spencer!
